Our History

1970

NorthWest Ordination Course is formed by the Anglican dioceses of Chester, Blackburn, Liverpool and Manchester but open to students from other denominations.

1980

Renamed the Northern Ordination Course with the added sponsorship of Wakefield, Bradford, Sheffield, Ripon and York dioceses of the Church of England and the Methodist Church

1996mirfield church

The Northern Ordination Course begins working with the Community and College of the Resurrection, Mirfield as part of the Mirfield Centre.

2008

The Northern Ordination Course is re-launched in this region as the Yorkshire Ministry Course, encompassing the dioceses of Sheffield, Wakefield, Bradford, Ripon & Leeds and York.

2017

YMC merges with St Barnabas Theological Centre to form St Hild College.
